"…And she smiles at the future." ~Proverbs 31:25

Thanks for stopping by!

You see it at the end of every one of my posts. But it’s not just a tagline…I really mean it! As I explained to my kiddos (when they asked, “Mom, why do you have to put that at the end of EVERY post you write?”), I really do feel thankful to you each time you take a moment from your busy day to check in with me here in my little corner of the blogosphere.  As every blogger knows, it’s a lot more fun to write when you know someone out there is reading.

I blog for two reasons:

1. For ME.

As a mom, I love being able to share the funny things my kids say. As a Christian, I love to corral my thoughts here and “discuss” them with you. As a (very amateur) photographer, I love posting pictures of the things that catch my eye. I blog because it’s fun for me.

2. For YOU.

Besides blogging for my own enjoyment, I also want to give something to you. Something to make you smile…or think…or be thankful. Something to help you, encourage you, or make your life a little easier. And that’s why I’d like your input.

I have a long list of things I’d like to write about in the near future. But I’m curious about what YOU would be most interested in reading. I want this blog to be fun and helpful to you! So, being the list maniac I am, I’ve made a list of all the general topics I’ve blogged about in the past, or plan to write about soon. Which are you most interested in? Which have you enjoyed the most? Which would you like to see more of? Or less of? Usually I do the writing here, but today I’m asking for YOU to jump in and help me out. Hopefully it will make Why Amy Smiles a place you want to visit again and again.

How do you improve on perfection?

    • Well, Charlie, I don’t know, ’cause I don’t know anything about perfection! But I DO appreciate you visiting my blog and leaving such an encouraging comment! THANKS! 🙂

I find the parental encouragement the most meaningful to me. I, like you, am in the throws of raising my children and find that it’s really comforting to know that others struggle with some of the same things.

Keep up the blogging!!! I’m reading…

    • Thanks, Ellen. I’m glad we can comfort each other–I know we all need it. You are such a good mom. Thank for reading and commenting. I appreciate both! 🙂

I have always enjoyed your blog. I have read every single entry with anticipation. I always find something there that inspires me, encourages me, and helps me to be a better wife and mother. I have tried to duplicate many of the things you’ve written about.

I love your posts about your kids and the things they teach you. I enjoy your posts about homeschool because I’m just beginning our journey. I love that you shared your anniversary trip with Troy. I love that you shared your scrapbooking retreat with April.

All of these things have given me a glimpse into your home. You’ve said things that make a Christian home loving, warm, and …attainable. You’ve been so real.

    Love you so much!

    Becki

    • WOW, Becki. I’m humbled by your sweet words. I am definitely “real,” so I’m glad that comes across. And, I’m glad if the things I say encourage you, as you have also encouraged me with your example of how to be a dedicated, loving mom and Christian. 🙂
