A one-sided conversation with my nine-year-old daughter:
Mommy, you don’t need to worry about planning a party for my birthday this year.
I just want to go to the zoo.
And we don’t even have to go INSIDE the zoo.
We just need to go out front, where all the pigeons are.
That’s all I want to do for my birthday—just catch pigeons.
And you can take nets for the other kids, but you don’t need to take one for me.
I’m going to use my bare hands.
(And if you’re thinking that sounds far-fetched, it just means you haven’t seen this! This girl means business…)
