"…And she smiles at the future." ~Proverbs 31:25

My birthday wish

It’s my birthday, and I’m asking YOU for a gift. Yes, that flies in the face of everything my sweet mother taught me. (Sorry, Mom.) But what I’m asking for won’t cost you a dime and will only take a moment.

Awww...Thanks, Troy.

Would you leave me a comment today? Here, on my blog…It’s easy, I promise! The very FIRST time you leave a comment below, I will have to approve it before it shows up here. That is just to keep the spam at bay. (You can only imagine the kind of junk that tries to attach itself…Let’s just say it’s NOT anything you want to read, and I certainly don’t want it to be part of my blog!) After that first approval, any comment you make from that same computer will show up automatically.

So, I know it’s a weird request, but even if you’ve never left one here before, would you leave a comment to let me know you were here? I don’t care what you say. Tell me what you’re doing today, or what you’re thinking, or the last thing that made you smile. Tell me what you’re thankful for, or what inspires you. Just let me know you were here.

Seeing comments always makes my day, and your thoughts make this a better blog.

That’s it—my birthday wish.

Thanks for stopping by!

Actually you helped us Amy, when someone asked for something specific it would be rude not to oblidge – otherwise our Mother’s would be scared they didn’t teach us right. Happy Birthday – from my family to yours. I hope this year is filled with more love and more blessings.

  9. Happy Birthday Amy! I was thinking of how I gave you a massage several years ago for your birthday. How about another this year? Clear the house and we can make a plan. Enjoy your day!!!!

  10. Amy, you are such a special lady and I pray you have a special day.

  22. Happy Birthday, Amy! Praying you have a beautiful, blessed day. 🙂

  23. I’m here, I’m reading…every little thing you write. I love it! Have a great day ( :

  24. I hope your day has been great. I thought of you today as well as my dear mom. She would have been 74 today and I have no doubt you would have received a phone call from her. I do miss her and my dad. It is so hard when both parents have passed. But with the strength and peace we get from God we carry on enjoying the rest of the blessings he has given us….my husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. You and your messages are both blessings to me Amy. I love you.

    • Debbie, I told David earlier today that I sure miss those phone calls. They were always EARLY in the morning but how I’d love to wake up that way now. I’m glad you have so many good memories of your parents, and glad you have so much to enjoy now. Thanks for keeping up with my blog and for all your encouragement!

Well Flamy Conflagration! Happy Birthday!! What makes me smile is thinking of the fun times we had together in high school!! I hope you had a glorious day and that this next year will be the best yet!!
    Many Blessings!!!

    • How fun to hear from you, Anne, and to remember those days! (Remember when I got YOUR contact stuck in MY eye during calculus? I always wanted to have contacts but didn’t need them, and you were the only one who ever let me try some on…What a friend…) Thanks for your comment and the birthday wishes. Miss you!

  26. Happy Birthday, Friend! I just got off a very productive conference call with the officers (Did I tell you I am now the secretary?) of the Down Syndrome Assoc. of Central KY. It was exciting to get some big things accomplished, and I am inspired to make a difference in this new community of people God has put into my life. I love you!!

Let’s see….I didn’t do much but enjoy Aaron’s day off with him and James. I’m thinking that you are truly an amazing person and a wonderful example of a Christian woman. I’m thankful for the internet that allows friends to stay in touch throughout the year. And, the last thing that made me smile was your picture on here and the thought about how much I enjoy your blog.

    • I am so glad I know you, Edy! I love hearing from you and wish we lived much closer…but like you said, I am glad we can keep in touch this way. I look forward to God crossing our paths again!

So I’m nearly a week late, but….you don’t know me from Adam. I accessed your blog from the Homeschool Friends group on Facebook sometime back. You are a great encouragement to me, and I love the fresh ideas you share. I’m knew to this homeschool journey—have a 2 and 4 year old. Just been doing a laid back preK year…anyway, thank you and hope you had a great bday! Feb 2nd is my mom’s bday too! 😉

    • Julie, it’s so nice to “meet” you! Your sweet message made my day, so don’t worry about being late. I’m so happy you are receiving encouragement from my blog. That’s my intention! In return, I get encouragement from those of you who take the time to leave a note for me. It’s much appreciated! Enjoy your first year of homeschooling. Starting from the beginning makes it easier to ease into each new grade. The early years are so much fun, so enjoy each day! 🙂
